Narrative:Hawker Hunter F.Mk.5 WP107: Notified as awaiting collection 31/3/55. Delivered to the RAF at 5 MU Kemble 1/4/55 (next day). Sole RAF operational service was with 263 Squadron at RAF Wattisham, Suffolk
Written off 25/01/1956: Crashed at Middlewood Green, five miles East North East of Stowmarket, Suffolk, after the pilot (Flight Lieutenant H. A. Merriman (Service Number 3108403)) ejected when the engine broke up in flight on a sortie from RAF Wattisham, Suffolk
Wreckage recovered to Farnborough, Hampshire for accident investigation, after which the the remains were placed on the fire dump at Farmborough for fire fighting training. Since perished/burnt out (but recorded as still present during September 1964 - one of 21 Hawker Hunters: 2 Hunter F.2s, 3 Hunter F.1s and 16 Hunter F5s dumped at Farmborough at this time)
