Stalled and crashed on landing.
Pilot Frederick Ferris.
Considered " beyond economical repair " the wreck languished for some time in the back of a hangar before being bought by a TEAL engineer, Mr Geoffrey Wells, and rebuilt.
ZK-AQX is current today and is owned by the family of Harry Newton, a former RNZAF pilot who purchased the plane in Brussels from the Belgian agent and flew it home to NZ in September/October, 1947.
ZK-AQX is formerly NC94669 and OO-EXC.
