Narrative:
de Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth MSN DHNZ.64; Taken on charge as NZ814 at Unit 18 Rongotai, Wellington 7.5.41. To 3 EFTS Harewood [1943-44]. To RNZAF Whenuapai [1945] for long-term storage pending disposal. Struck off charge when sold 2.10.46 to Marlborough Aero Club. NZ civil registered as ZK-AIT 7.10.46 to Marlborough Aero Club, Blenheim. Re-registered 1.10.54 to Airlift (NZ) Ltd, Wellington and converted for agricultural (topdressing/crop-spraying) operations.

Written off (damaged beyond repair) when crashed into trees at Eketahuna, Tararua District, Manawatū-Whanganui region, North Island, New Zealand 30.6.55. Pilot: Eric Adam. Broken up for spares at (associate) Aircraft Engineering Co of NZ Ltd, Rongotai. Scrapped at Rongotai, Wellington. Registration ZK-AIT cancelled 4.4.61 as "not flyable"

The reported crash location of Eketāhuna is a small rural settlement, in the south of the Tararua District and the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. The town is located at eastern foot of the Tararua Ranges, 35 kilometres north of Masterton and a similar distance south of Palmerston North
