Narrative:
The balloon took off from Yangshuo County, carrying five Dutch tourists on a scenic tour. It flew toward the neighboring Lipu County. Owing to strong wind, the hot air balloon touched down very hard on landing, causing the leak of gas bottles, which almost immediately kindled a fire. The balloon then lifted out of control. Two pilots and one passenger managed to escape from the basket in time. The other four occupants jumped out of the basket too late and died from falling. The balloon kept flying until eventually crashing onto a house in Yangshuo County, resulting in further damage to property.

The accident flight turned out to be illegal since Meixiang Aviation Club was never approved for commercial passenger service.
