THE TWO GLIDERS COLLIDED WHILE THERMALING IN THE VICINITY OF EACH OTHER WHILE ENGAGED IN A CONTEST. ACCORDING TO THE PILOTS THEY LOST SIGHT OF EACH OTHER WHILE SPIRALING IN THE LIFT. BOTH AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. THE COLLISION WAS NOSE TO TAIL.
