Narrative:
Deleveloped mechanical problems and crashed in thick fog into Kiima Kiu hill, Salama area, during a routine mission. The helicopter was destroyed when it apparently flew into the side of a wooded hill while en route from Eastleigh AFB, Nairobi to Mombasa. The accident happened in daylight but in poor weather with reduced visibility in fog and rain.

The pilot Capt Okello Habakkuk was the sole survivor with serious burns, but died 48 hours later. No one survived the crash.
