Narrative:
de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth MSN 83896; Taken on charge as T7467 nominally at 15 MU RAF Wroughton, Wiltshire 19.10.40. However, placed into long-term storage in ‘purgatory’ at The Riding School, Walton Street, Oxford; returned to Morris Motors, Cowley, Oxford [undated, but probably October 1941] for erection. To 38 MU, RAF Llandow, Glamorgan 7.11.41. To 29 EFTS RAF Clyffe Pypard, Wiltshire 22.3.43. To 8 MU RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire 26.11.47. To 10 RFS RAF Exeter, Devon 5.5.49 coded "RSB-B", later “11”. To 9 MU RAF Cosford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire 15.4.53.

Struck off charge when sold 30.9.53 to Association of British Aero Clubs. UK civil registrered as G-ANIZ (C of R R4274/1) 7.12.53 to Skegness Air Taxi Services Ltd, Ingoldmells. Lincolnshire; named "Yogi Express". Overhauled at Wolverhampton and C of A issued 8.9.54. Badly damaged when struck bush on landing Skegness 1.9.58; repaired and returned to service. C of A lapsed 2.11.62; stored Wyberton, Lincolnshire. Registration cancelled 27.8.64 as 'sold' ['change of ownership' notified to authorities 10.3.65]. Sold to Vendair Ltd, Biggin Hill and stored. Re-registered 8.6.67 to Vendair Flying Club Ltd, Biggin Hill, Kent.

Rebuilt by Vendair for Roger Sherron and reflown late 1967; fitted with Gipsy Major #86330. Registration cancelled 6.12.67 as 'sold to USA'. Re-registered in USA as N9714 5.1.68 to Roger J Sherron Jnr, Sebastopol, CA (aircraft based Santa Rosa, CA). Export Licence C of A issued 11.4.68; full C of A issued 16.4.68. Sold 29.12.2003 and regd 4.2.2004 to Texas Aviation Hall of Fame [Lone Star Flight Museum], Galveston, TX

Damaged 13.9.2008 during Hurricane 'Ike': aircraft was static exhibit in the Lone Star aircraft museum at Galveston, Texas, at the time (and had been on display since 4.2.2004). Hurricane "Ike" made its final landfall near Galveston, Texas as a strong Category 2 hurricane, on 13.9.2008, at 2:10 a.m. CDT. Hurricane-force winds extended 120 miles (195 km) from the center and tropical storm-force winds extended far beyond that.

Re-registered 2.12.2016 to Lone Star Flight Museum, Galveston, TX; to Ellington Airport, Houston 9.17 (when museum relocated). For sale for as static rebuild [late 2017]; to Pacific Aviation Museum, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii 2.2018 [on rebuild 1.2019]. Registration N9714 cancelled by FAA 28.2.2020 as "expired".
